GET AN ESTIMATE:

I'm happy to give anyone within a 15 mile radius of Bellingham a free estimate.  Anything beyond that and I need to charge for my time and fuel.  Between 16-30 miles the cost is $50.  Between 31-45 miles the cost is $100.  Anything over that you might find it best to contact a local handy person a little closer to you.  

We can try doing a virtual estimate (which is also free).  I can use zoom, facetime, or hangouts with the most ease.  These estimates are less likely to be fully accurate, but we can give it a try and see.  If I get to your place to start work and realize that things will be different than what we discussed, I'll contact you first before starting work.

I don't work in bids because this kind of work can often have a lot of possibility to change with a job that looks pretty simple on the surface- sometimes you just don't know what you are getting into until you start a job.  I will quote you a range and if I run into something bigger I will let you know right away. This is especially common with old houses.  Nothing is standard and it seems like one little issue daisy chains into many.  So I'll do my best to keep you informed, but please know your original estimate may change depending on the job.

Here are some things you need to know about working with me; some disclaimers.

Generally I charge $75-$100 an hour. That means I bring all the tools and the attachments they need and everything works and is safety inspected and maintained. I usually do the shopping for materials for you and clean up when I am finished. I also  I also offer flat rates for day labor that vary depending on what is needed. If I need to hire a second hand for a big job, I'll put that in my estimate first and make sure you are comfortable with another person coming to work with me. Anyone coming on site with me agrees to my strict safety and will be someone I carefully vet before bringing onsite.
