What to Expect and How to Prepare for Gutter/Roof Cleaning:
Getting ready for your gutter cleaning can really be helpful for a successful job and your overall satisfaction! I will arrive with a gas blower and will likely blow the debris off. (This expedites the process significantly). Then I will go in and scoop out the gunk and run water through your gutters to make sure they are draining properly. If I see any soft spots or notice you could use some flashing to help guide the water into a gutter I will let you know. (I do a general inspection of the roof condition while I am up there.)
If you want me to, I can treat for moss. I don't use chemicals. I have found over the years that baking soda is completely effective when you use it twice a year and a fraction of the cost. A case of baking soda is $25- depending on the size of your roof I may need a couple cases. For me to give you a baking soda treatment on the roof, just let me know so I can factor that into your estimate.
Ways you can prepare for your gutter/roof cleaning:
-
Let your neighbors know! Especially if you live very close together. I'll try and keep the debris to your yard, but sometimes it goes flying!
-
Cover your flower beds with some tarps. Especially if you have worked hard at weeding them out!
-
Move the furniture or other things you don't want covered in debris off decks and patios by the roof. (Or gather and cover with a tarp)
I will absolutely clean off any surface that is not natural (so your deck/patio/etc) but I don't generally include extra cleaning fees for raking grass or cleaning moss out of flower beds. If this is something you want or need please let me know ahead of time. If you need help moving the furniture and covering with tarps, let me know that too.
I will never pressure wash your roof. This is the fastest way to destroy your shingles and compromise your house.
